To make a long story short... I was driving parallel to two cars on a two lane road. It was the first snow of the winter today, and I was driving with my wife back from breakfast.

The car in front in the left lane began to brake and the vehicle directly behind him started to cross into my lane, essentially pushing me into the curb and on top of it. I honked at him, but he drove off. I

followed him to a nearby parking lot and said "don't know if you noticed, but you ran me off the road". Rather than apologizing, his response was "I don't know if you noticed, but the car in front of me was braking hard. It's

winter. It's gonna happen. Fi idiot". The damage to my car was minimal, I think, so I didn't get his insurance info and he probably would have declined to give it anyway.

I did some research and found out his business license is currently expired, but he's still operating his business. I found out he's still operating his business because he posts pictures of the homes he's completed on social media, but, again, he has an expired license.

His license plate was somewhat unique, so I connected it directly to the business. The guy was such an ', I'm thinking of just reporting him for operating a company without the proper

licensing. Had he shown even a slight amount of remorse, I wouldn't even be considering this... but based on how he interacted with me, I almost don't think he should be in business anyway.

Anyway... will I be the a- hole if I decide to report his business? Should I? Should I not? Is it even worth it? Is it even legal to report a business like this?

Quick update: After a lot of inner deliberation, I decided to take the advice and report him... not out of spite, but just because I don't want other people to get screwed by this contractor. Several reviews on his website mention this guy

is kind of a tool and does really shoddy work, so I felt it best to go through with a report in case a customer needs some work redone. Despite the website where I reported him telling me they're not obligated to update me on punishments/fines/etc, it

looks like I'll be able to check the website and see if he gets any repercussions for an expired license. If that's the case, I'll update everyone here on what occurs. Typically, they review cases within two weeks of submission, so I'll keep everyone in the loop if something happens.

Glengal 2 days ago It was the right thing to do. We had a contractor, do work on our house, they were supposed to be insured. The did some damage, it ends up they were stealing another company's name, and weren't insured. We had no recourse.

vyrus2021 2 days ago People who want to run businesses should keep their licenses up to date. I'd bet good money he doesn't because he's a cheap selfish p k. ETA: this is a pretty good example of karma catching up to this d bag.

Loosenut2024 · 15 hr. ago As a contractor theres soooo many guys like that, f em. Total tool bags that do work and think they're a gift to the world. Knock him down a peg, or 12. None of that is acceptable, nor is dangerous driving. Luckily you were able to get over and not hit a pole or anything. Blind luck.

Particular-Try5584 This is why you do it. Because while he's conducting business without the correct registrations and licences he's doing it without insurance. . 3 days ago Which means his employees and his customers will get shafted if anything goes wrong.
